Owain Schiavone and Holly Hadfield won the 2026 Aberystwyth Twin Peaks race on Sunday, 11 October, as 97 runners completed the course and Aberystwyth Athletic Club claimed both team prizes.
Ras Dau Gopa took runners up Pen Dinas and Constitution Hill before finishing on Aberystwyth Promenade. The 11.7km race starts and finishes near the promenade bandstand. Runners headed around the harbour and up Pen Dinas before returning along the seafront to climb Constitution Hill, with an elevation gain of 237 metres through a mixture of roads, gravel tracks, grass and rocky paths. There was also a shorter Ras Consti races for younger runners.
Schiavone leads the way
Representing Aberystwyth AC, Schiavone took overall victory in 46 minutes and 50 seconds, finishing more than two minutes ahead of his nearest rival. Jamie Biggs of Summer Running secured second place in 49:06, while fellow Aberystwyth AC runner Jamie Lloyd completed the men’s podium in 49:29. Owain Rowlands and Llyr Ab Einion, both representing Aberystwyth AC, finished fourth and fifth respectively, each recording 49:43.
Hadfield sets under-20 record
Aberystwyth University Harriers athlete Holly Hadfield won the women’s race in 56 minutes and eight seconds, finishing 16th overall. The championship highlights identified her time as a new women’s under-20 course record. Catrin Morgan-Lewis claimed second place in 57:03, while Aberystwyth AC’s Lynwen Huxtable completed the women’s podium in 59:16.
Aberystwyth AC runners were also the winners of both the club team prize and the annual Town v Gown competition against Aberystwyth University Harriers. Elliot Fletcher won the men’s under-20 prize in 55:54, while Wyn Evans of Sarn Helen took the men’s V35 award in 50:25.
Other category prize winners were Cathy Cole (women’s V35), Sam Clemmens and Laura Guillaume (V45), Andrew Ellis and Karen Davies (V55), and Damian Sidnell (men’s V65). Raymond Sharratt of Rhayader AC won the men’s V75 prize, with his time of 1:37:12 reported as a new category course record.
